To improve the performance of engine, several sensors sensing and reply response to ECU. The pressure sensors mostly based on strain gage technology which could be dived in two category mainly.

Piezoresistive strain gages. the most pressure sensor made based on this technology and is enough accuracy. and depend of usage could be applied on specific materials (e.g. ceramic, silicon, PVC …). Capacitive technologies also use for sensor and due to some specific performance is going to
increase the usage on sensor field. Thick film and thin film technology provided to reach above performances.
Micro Machining technology also used for sensors. for signal condition and improve the performance of sensor in automotive condition. Also for this application the MEMs technology help to integrate the ASIC with Sensor die to optimize the design and decrease the cost.
Hall technology use for Acceleration Pedal, ABS and EPS/EPAS system. This technology is the new way for sensing the positioning of movements.
